The Political Pathology Asylum: archive

To active file <<<

Ever wondered about the 'hate' thing? The answer to this question is Kantian ethics, or deontology. In this approach to morality the intention is all that counts. In fact, taking the effect (or result) of your action into consideration at all, renders the act outside the field of morality per definition. It leads to obvious nonsense as, it is wrong to lie to a murderer, even if this would save someone's life:

P
JM: "Honk! You’re Hateful"
, by Andrew Klavan

In an op-ed in last Sunday’s Los Angeles Times, I teasingly challenged liberals to—gasp!—actually listen to Rush Limbaugh with an open mind. The reaction was predictable, but no less hilarious for that. Email after email practically boiling with viciousness, foul language and hate, accused Limbaugh—and me—of being vicious, foul-mouthed and hateful. Don’t these people own mirrors? (...) >>>

When it's time for "I told you so" they never apologize for their moral pedantry, do they?

PJM: "‘I’m Maureen Dowd, and I’ve Been Had’", by Jennifer Rubin

A support group for bitter pundits disappointed in Obama is quickly becoming necessary. They may need a support group before the month is out. They could gather in New York or Washington where many victims reside. The meetings would start: “I’m Maureen [or David]. I’m a duped Barack voter. And I’m mad.” The ranks indeed are filling with the disaffected and the disappointed — Chris Buckley, Maureen Dowd, David Brooks, David Gergen, and even that gynecological sleuth and blogger Andrew Sullivan. And then there is the very angry Marty Peretz. Their complaints are varied but expressed with equal amounts of remorse and bitterness. They all have been done wrong by Barack. (...) >>>

Politeia: From the Pathological to the Utterly Depraved

(...) A woman suspected of recruiting more than 80 female suicide bombers has confessed to organising their rapes so she could later convince them that martyrdom was the only way to escape the shame. Samira Jassam, 51, was arrested by Iraqi police and confessed to recruiting the women and orchestrating dozens of attacks. (...) Now that's depravity for you! And does it say something about a culture when the evil organizor is lovingly dubbed "the Mother of All Believers" - raised onto the shield and made the heroine! Where does such clearly socio-pathological behavior come from. On the part of the victims it's the culture of shame - a result of the tribal/collectivist way of life. Read all about that in "Lies, Deceit, and the Shame Culture". Totalitarian collectivism and the Sorelian myth of Muslim victimhood drive the mentality that prescribes the lone drone's duty to sacrifice to the common cause. That explains the acts of all involved in this truly sick story. (...) >>>

CNN: "Blagojevich takes his case to TV circuit"

As Gov. Rod Blagojevich's impeachment trial proceedings got under way Monday, the embattled Illinois governor hit the media circuit, answering questions about Oprah, foul language and why he isn't resigning. (...) Blagojevich also further explained comments that he channeled major political figures who overcame adversity as he was being arrested. "I've been criticized for this, but I'm not comparing myself to Dr. King or Nelson Mandela or Mahatma Gandhi, but I tried to reach in to history and imagine some inspiring figures that would have gone through something like I was going through for sustenance and inspiration." Politeia: "Obamania and the Psychology of Fear and Guilt"

(...) Fouad Ajami on Wall Street Journal in "Obama and the Politics of Crowds", subtitled "The masses greeting the candidate on the trail are a sign of great unease," looks at the rather worrisome phenomenon of Third World style crowds. (...) What we see is a collection of hedonistic Narcissists, force-fed on dialectically induced self-loathing through Ayers' educational reform. They're simply unable to deal with the surge in cognitive dissonance as a result of their idealistic self-image as caring, generous people, that clashes with the cultivation of intense hatred, of which Bu$hitler has been the main recipient. (...)

For certain is, that the choice for Obama as the next POTUS is an emotional one, made on the basis of the dangerous potion of guilt and fear: the hope of white redemption. Policies (or lack thereof) are irrelevant to most, only few bother to rationalize their choice. David Kupelian in "Yes, Barack Obama really is a Manchurian candidate" explains the power of guilt, of which - it must be said - Democrats, as the party of the KKK and segregation - may suffer more than - say, Evangelicals. The kiddos at HufPo have a post up on the all important subject of Sarah Palin's lipstick: is it real, is it tattooed? WSJ: "A Nut in Search of a Squirrel - Al Gore image consultant: Palin stole my mail!"

Remember Naomi Wolf? She had her 15 minutes of fame back in 1999, when Time reported that she was helping Al Gore man up for the 2000 election: "Wolf has argued internally that Gore is a 'Beta male' who needs to take on the 'Alpha male' in the Oval Office before the public will see him as the top dog." (...) Things don't appear to have gone very well for Wolf since then. She resurfaced last night with a bizarre post on the Puffington Host titled "The Battle Plan II: Sarah 'Evita' Palin, the Muse of the Coming Police State." It begins as a standard Palin-hating rant: (...) >>>

Politeia: "A Sense of Cruelty"

(...) As the press continues to derail in the objective information department, another section - caricaturists - implode into a passive agressive displacement hole. This vicious piece of pamphleteering is what passes for humor in the British Leftist rag The Guardian, home to unreformed Stalinists and Mao supporters. (...) There are important differences between mature humor and displacement or it's cousin, passive aggression. The latter are also psychological defense mechanisms, but less mature ones (neurotic) (...) Such rudeness in the name of humor is actually painful to witness (i.e., not funny) because when someone resorts to it, they are unintentionally revealing their own deepest--and darkest--soul. (...) the more immature psychological defenses--such as displacement or passive aggression-- can produce a warped type of humor (...) Not all humor is created equal when it comes to being healthy and psychologically mature (...) In philosophical terms the ratio goes: "anyone who threatens our high sense of ethics - our Common Will - is only worthy of being sacrificed to it." >>>

Politeia: "Of Mass Mind Control and Psychopathy"

(...) Icke stresses the importance of social and group pressure: (...) The individual believer must have social support. (...) If (...) the believer is a member of a group of convinced persons who can support one another, we would expect the belief to be maintained and the believers to attempt to proselyte or to persuade non-members that the belief is correct.’

That is how the herd mentality works and how individuals are pressured to conform to the beliefs of the group - what is termed ‘creating the consensus’. (...) It is this constant mental and emotional readjustment in the wake of cognitive dissonance that ensures the survival of all religious, political and social beliefs. When something comes along to demolish the original belief, people just find a way of explaining the contradictions so their belief remains intact (...) ...

At first we couldn't figure out what exactly is so creepy (...) the creation of a vested interest in the O personality cult, the 'belief in O as the savior'. Politeia: "The Perception Campaign"

The subjectivist cohorts aim to catch the human mind unawares, before conscious thought sets in. They seek to insinuate preconceptions on the subconscious sensations-percepts level (this is why they are called pre-conceptions). Adolf Hitler and all demagogues like him did the exact same thing. These massive hives of semi-tranced humans have the subconscious backdoor of the mind wide open to all kinds of vibes, benign, or malign as the case may be. In any case, no responsible, independent person wants his thought processes meddled with by mind-games.

From the same family of sloppy thought stems the Palin smear campaign. The rumor machine shares with the demagogues the wish to insinuate adverse emotions at an early stage, before a conscious, rational opinion of the person can be formed. In the frenzy of hatred (projection) (...) here's a site which keeps tally; he's working overtime: the number stands at 71 (!!!) to date! >>>

Politeia: "The Twin Blessings of Denial and Projection"

(...) Obamaland is scrambling to pick up the fragments of their imploded campaign; but if the signs are not mistaken we had better prepare for another four years of fake hysterical rage, rage, rage and scurrilous invective, coupled with biased, wrathful, hateful, divisive, vitriolic, bigoted, intolerant and warmongering, racist and sexist slurs from the Orwellian Press from Hell, The True Race and all the other projection-ridden protagonists of the pathological Left. But it will be worth it. (...)

Denial is the opposite end of the subjectivist fallacy that thought creates reality (if you die overnight will the sun be rising tomorrow? no, say subjectivists). If thought creates reality, then 'not thinking' (denying) it, makes the unpleasant reality go away, or so the infered logic goes. >>>

CNN: "German anti-war poster hails soldier's death"

Germany's defense minister has condemned as an insult to the country's troops an anti-war poster that calls the death of a soldier in Afghanistan a "step to disarmament." Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung was quoted by the Bild newspaper Thursday as saying that the poster on the Web site of Germany's "Bureau for Antimilitary Measures" group was "tasteless" and "irresponsible." (...)

The downloadable poster — which has been available for five years — shows three soldiers standing next to the flag-draped coffin of a comrade killed in a 2002 helicopter crash in Afghanistan. "We greet this concrete measure to reduce the size of the military one-by-one," reads the caption under the poster's headline. The poster was produced in conjunction with the Berlin-area branch of the larger peace organization DFG-VK, whose parent organization on Thursday said it had not been sanctioned. The group called the poster an "inappropriate form of addressing the issue of Germany's involvement in war." (...) At the same time the group insisted "The poster, however, is not a crime — unlike the war that deliberately claims the lives of soldiers and innocent civilians." (...) >>>

On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats' convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least. Watch how the former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler is laughing about a hurricane hitting (...) So you see, it's funny. That New Orleans will get a hurricane. That's funny because it is due to hit when President Bush is scheduled to speak. Isn't that cool? ... while bravely facing the fact of denial, another delusion is at once erected to take its place: the similarities between Darfur and Iraq - there are in fact none ...

Al Jazeera: "Arab media blind to Darfur"

The conflict in Darfur is a news story that has been widely and emotively covered by western media but has attracted relatively little coverage within the Arab media. (...) There are many similarities between the violence in Iraq and Darfur from the estimate of the number of civilians killed to paramilitaries operating closely linked to the government forces, to victims who are targeted for membership of an ethnic group. However international media coverage generally reports one as a civil war or cycle of insurgency and the other as a genocide. (...) Sudan's population is 40 per cent Arab and Arabs are at the heart of the conflict, but for many in the Arab world, the humanitarian catastrophe may as well not exist. The reason being the Arab media have largely ignored it. Politeia: "The War on Existence"

Recently I had the honour to be invited by a member of the political and philosophical opposition to join a FaceBook group of deluded Troofers named "The War on Consciousness". Their very lengthy introduction piece is transcribed for non FB members in "The War on Reality." Troofers suffer from a form of paranoid obsessiveness which leads them to see BusHitlerCheney conspiracies behind every bush. It is therefore known as Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS). (...)

The best bet is that the tolerance level for contradictions is so appallingly high in the subjectivist-relativist camp that our mutual exclusiveness hadn't triggered any cognitive dissonance in the man, at all! (...)

These are the people who are usually quick off the mark to address the defenders of freedom - like Wilders - as extreme Rightists, Fascists and neo Nazis. After yesterday's Court verdict about "Fitna", in which Wilders is absolved of 'hate crimes', this Soviet strategy has collapsed. The question may be justified on which planet these multicultis have lived for the past ten to twenty years or so? Dr Sanity: "Victimhood 101: A Short Course on How to Obtain and Nurture it in Today's World"

DEDICATION
The world's most celebrated victims have once again scored a PR coup and managed to get the major news services pimping for them. Of course, the UN Commission on Human Rights (otherwise known as the UN Israeli CRimes Against Palestinians --UNICRAP-- Committee ) has already sprung into action. One can only sit back in admiration and awe at the skill and talent--not to mention energy and resources it takes to pull off a victimhood scam of this magnatude!

Here are a people and a culture who have managed to remain pathetic refugees for literally decades as they bask in the warm glow and regard of their fellow Muslims, who would literally do anything for them--except grant them citizenship in their countries; or allow them to build the infrastructure for a functioning society (that would mean they'd have to leave those charming, sewage backed up refugee camps). No, as long as the Palestinians can promote their victimhood and oppression at the hands of the evil Jews, the Muslims in the Middle East will never have to enter the 20th century, let alone the 21st; and their medieval culture can remain untainted and forever backwards. Dr Sanity: "Peace like a river, i.e., denial river"

ShrinkWrapped has an excellent discussion on how people's conscious thoughts and actions, often reflect contradictory unconscious desires. In particular, he focuses on unconscious aggression (...) by denying our own aggressive natures we end up enabling and supporting the aggression of others. The most blatant example is the appeasement of terrorism and terrorists by the political left and the Democrats; or any who are totally invested in seeing themselves as "antiwar" as they cozy up to enemies whose explicit goal is to destroy our civilization. (...) Many people have forgotten that one of the most well-known pacifists of all time--Gandhi--proposed that nothing should have been done about the holocaust or the Nazis. How many of his admirers have considered what the consequences would have been if the world had followed Gandhi's lead? (...) Antiwar protestors always make a point of asking rhetorically what war is good for? (...) The truth is that no sane person wants war, but aggression may be the only possible response to evil. And in human history, there have been many evils far worse than war (...) If you cannot consciously tap into the aggressive side of your human nature and permit the use of aggression and even violence to serve the good; you will inevitably end up serving all that is evil in the world. Pacifists cannot deal with this simple truth. In reality, they don't care much about human suffering, misery or even death; let alone the legacy of evil in the world. Through a variety of psychological defenses, they have managed to deny, displace, distort, and project real evil away. There cannot be found even a trace of psychological insight among all those angry marchers who violently and adamantly demand peace at any price. (...) externalize the blame (...) emphasize rhetoric over action; good intentions over actual behavior. Antiwar activism is simply part of the left's ongoing struggle against reality (...) The track record of pacifism is horrendous. Not only do "peace movements" fail to bring peace; but by protecting, appeasing, and minimizing true evil, they ensure that war--when it inevitably comes--costs even more in terms of human suffering and lives. >>>
